We have tested numerous services and can now safely say that whilst your site will never be guaranteed 100% availability we can offer you a hosting service on one of our own dedicated servers that is almost as good as 100%.
Service Availability
No server is infallible and there are multiple factors that can prevent your site from being accessible. Telecommunication lines connecting to ports can break down, Virus Attacks or Spam Mail flooding can clogg networks. The Internet network, although built with resilience in mind, is too large and too vast to be able to reliably offer 365 days a year 24/7 uptime.
Virus and Spam Protection
Sharpnet provides Virus and Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE or SPAM) protection as Standard. Our web servers have built-in SpamAssasin and Networked anti-virus system which protect your mail box from any junk mail or harmfull payloads. Our clients never have to worry about overloaded e-mail boxes!
Shared or dedicated?
Depending on the type of website you plan to have and how it grows, Sharpnet is able to supply you with the most appropriate solution. For simple low traffic websites, a shared hosting solution would probably be more than enough.
Sharpnet can also supply fully managed dedicated server service with complete peace of mind. We use strong SLA (Service Level Agreement) for websites that have large traffic and intensive resource usage and the need to keep the website data secure from third party access.
How Much Will It cost?
Cost depends on the size of your site. It depends on the bandwidth that your website will require. We will first asses the size and the intended use of your website and quantity of traffic that we anticipate your site will receive. This is often a gradual progress and we will frequently need to re-asses as the traffic increases.
Our pricing starts at £120 ($200) per year for 10MB of space and 5GB of Monthly Traffic. Should the site grow and traffic increase then you must expect an automatic increase in your expenses. We can provide a fully managed server for £300 ($500) per month for 60GB of Space and 700GB of monthly Traffic. We shall always advise you of any developments before taking any action.
